Medical Student Awards
Published: 4/2/2012

Each year, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has the pleasant task of rewarding medical students for their exemplary performance during third and fourth year.

Ashley Huth is the recipient of the T.A. Leonard Award in recognition of exemplary performance during her third year Ob/Gyn clerkship. Ashley was accepted into the University of Wisconsin Pediatrics Residency Program.
Recipients of the Samuel G. Perlson Scholarship go to Shefaali Sharma, Erika Mikulec, and Alison Gold. This scholarship is awarded to fourth year medical students planning to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynecology, who have demonstrated outstanding abilities as a scholar and exhibited commensurate outstanding humanistic qualities. This award is provided by Mrs. Jo Schwartz Perlson in memory of her late husband, Sam, who graduated from the Medical School in 1951, and spent his career as a practicing physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, and serving as an active member in the UW Medical Alumni Association.

Shefaali Sharma and Erika Mikulec begin their residency training in our department in June. Alison Gold was accepted at University Hospital, Cincinnati, OH.
