Residency Program - Education & Duties

While a low stress Ob-Gyn residency has yet to be invented, the department is committed to maintaining an environment in which residents and faculty can learn from each other in a supportive and mutually respectful environment.

There are educational objectives for each rotation, formal teaching sessions, and regularly scheduled performance evaluations of residents and faculty. Residents are given graded and increasing responsibility for patient care, and are regularly consulted in departmental and institutional decision-making.

Sensitivity and responsiveness to our resident's needs are central to the success of our educational mission. To this end, help is available to address physical, emotional and didactic special needs. Over the course of four years, the members of the department hope to build relationships that will transcend the four years of residency training, and lead to the establishment of friendships and mutual trust.
