Iruretagoyena talks about ultrasound trends with Wisconsin news outlets
J. Igor Iruretagoyena, MD, MS, professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, spoke to Wisconsin news outlets about developing ultrasound trends, specifically keepsake ultrasound boutiques.
In the news segment, Iruretagoyena discussed ultrasounds and what ultrasound boutiques and similar ventures could mean for patients. When asked about whether ultrasounds have any risks, Iruretagoyena responded:
“There are no physical risks that we can tell; there is no evidence of that. An ultrasound is an ultrasound wave, and so it’s not radiation, so it’s not harmful to the baby and we want to make sure that we do it with the least amount of disruption that we can.”
