Ladanyi talks about endometriosis with Fox 6 News
Camille Ladanyi, MD, assistant professor in the Division of Academic Specialists in Ob-Gyn, joined Fox 6 News to talk about endometriosis for Endometriosis Awareness Month this past March. Endometriosis Awareness Month is an opportunity to create more awareness for the condition, which is often misdiagnosed.
In the news segment, Ladanyi discussed what endometriosis is, symptoms to look out for, and potential treatment options to discuss with healthcare providers. When asked who to have a conversation with if someone is experiencing symptoms of endometriosis, Ladanyi said:
“I think that, you know, starting with anybody that you have a good relationship with, that you can trust and can communicate with, whether that’s your primary care doctor or a gynecologist. Either of those options are great. I think the first step is to just speak up and talk about these symptoms. Any time that a patient has symptoms that are not improving, that are worsening over time, and really affecting their quality of life, preventing them from going to school, going to work, or enjoying activities that they once liked to do, it’s time to talk about it. Start that conversation, explain those symptoms, so that care can be delivered.”
